This course will train delegates undertake formal manual handling risk assessments in their workplace. We will customise the course to your organisations specific manual handling/health and safety policy and risk assessment strategy. Prior to the course, our trainer will undertake a review with you to identify the manual handling risks and develop a tailored course accordingly, incorporating your own risk assessment form and procedures. We also include live handling operations to undertake risk assessments on during the course.
This course will:
- Outline the legal responsibilities of employers and employees as stated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
- Provide delegates with an understanding of functional anatomy, cumulative strain, the causes of back injuries and the impact injuries can have on people’s lives
- Equip delegates with the skills to undertake formal manual handling risk assessments using a range of assessment forms, including the HSE MAC Tool
- Allow delegates to undertake live risk assessments, on actual handling operations within their workplace as learning exercises
- Provide delegates with course notes as well as template risk assessment forms
